Lindsay Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the global headquarters in Omaha, NE. In this dynamic, hands on position, you will be responsible for various technical design assignments including system and component performance enhancements, new product features, process improvements, and research & development activities.  This position will also include being part of a cross-functional team assigned with developing new, global irrigation product platforms.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering analysis, specifications, technical reports, product design & validation, etc.
  • Create or supervise the making of design drawings and release to Production
  • Document all design reviews with the global stakeholders
  • Provide technical assistance to the Lindsay Sales, Customer Service, and Production teams
  • Execute assignments on time and on target; product specifications, project schedules, and budgets
  • Support Lindsay's values
  • Communicate honestly, immediately, and concisely
  • Ensure that all effort complies with ISO 9000 requirements
  • Identify and execute innovations/improvements to Lindsay products and processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSME, BSCE, BSABE or equivalent.
  • 5 years product design and development experience in a stage gate process
  • Experience using GD&T, DFMA, and APQP/DFSS tools (DFMEA, DVP&R, etc.)
  • 5 years' experience in solid modeling (preferably SolidWorks) and 4 years' experience in FEA
  • Technical expertise with steel sheet metal, structural weldments or driveline engineering
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
