We are currently looking for a talented individual to join our Engineering department as a Test Engineer. This individual will be a key contributor and will join a TEAM of people that are striving for excellence at their largest plant in the Corporation. The Test Engineer should demonstrate a passion for process integrity with a commitment to Data Acquisition. This role is a great opportunity to make a solid impact which will provide growth opportunities down the road.

In this role you will be responsible for designing test that can evaluate the viability, performance, and durability of new concepts, designs and ideas. You will be responsible for specifying instrumentations needed and have knowledgeable on various types of transducers and how to apply them and measure stress, displacement, pressure, acceleration, temperature, voltage, current etc.

Responsibilities for this role will include wiring of low voltage instrumentation circuits using soldering skills, various electrical connectors, and application of correct wiring practices to maximize data quality / minimize noise. You must have close attention to detail and will document test instrumentation setups so that they can be referenced or replicated in the future.

Experience Needed:

  • Experience in developing validation procedures, test fixtures, and work instructions.
  • Experience with Dewesoft, DataTaker, and Micromeasurements data acquisition systems.
  • Skilled in strain gauge application techniques with the ability to apply & wire gauges in both lab and field environments.
  • Experienced with ruggedized mobile equipment data acquisition such as HBM/Somat, LMS SCADAS, Teac, B&K systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data signal analysis to evaluate data in both time and frequency domains. 
  • Able to review data and determine quality of signal and to troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation issues during the data acquisition process. 
  • Ability to conduct in-depth post test data analysis in order to extract trends, component strain life, histograms, and performance characteristics.
  • Analytic experience in order to summarize data analysis in a clear and concise format and explain findings of tests and provide recommendations based on facts.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience with creating transducers such as full bridge load or torque cells is a plus.
  • Experienced with ruggedized mobile equipment data acquisition such as HBM/Somat, LMS SCADAS, Teac, B&K systems is a plus.

  • BSME, BSABE or equivalent technical education
  • 5 years' experience in validating off road vehicle platforms and systems a plus
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
  • Technical expertise in data acquisition-force, torque, tem, distance, ect
  • Experience using APQP/DFSS tools (DFMEA, DVP&R, etc.) a plus
  • Mechanical aptitude, analytical reasoning, and problem solving skills
  • Experience in directing a staff of hourly technicians (5 years preferred)
