Department / District / Project Description

Position Description - Safety Manager

The Safety Manager will be responsible for all aspects of safety for the entire Lindsay plant, including 40+ acres and multiple buildings, by creating an environment that focuses on safety first. The safety manager will be own OSHA compliance, health and safety plan execution, and the overall safety culture of the plant. The position will also be responsible for evaluating practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to regulations.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a tracking program for first aid, near miss, and property damage focused on root cause analysis
  • Develop an ergonomic improvement plan
  • Develop and implement an enhanced training program to meet OSHA requirements
  • Train and proactively motivate employees to build a culture of safety first
  • Lead Lindsay's safety management system with a passion and high level of commitment
  • Achieve and sustain health and safety goals
  • Lead and implement changes activities as compliance dictates
  • Identify and consistently address safety issues to ensure a safe work environment consistently
  • Conduct safety Gemba walks and report to management team daily

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety, Engineering, or Business
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • 5+ years security experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety policies, programs, and safety management systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a passion for employee engagement
