Position Description Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer will report directly to the Quality Manager and support the overall success of the Quality department and efforts at the Lindsay plant.  Specifically, effectiveness in the following areas will be of top focus: production quality, ISO program, supplier quality, and warranty process.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop process improvements that focus to reduce cost of goods sold
  • Implement control plans and PFMEA in primary areas of responsibility
  • Focus on supplier quality verification process and associated metrics
  • Overall process improvements within quality to positively impact the baseline

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of quality experience
  • Thorough understanding of quality management systems (preferably ISO)
  • Thorough understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems (SPC, Lean/Six Sigma), CIP
  • Ability to inspect & determine application of electrical & mechanical components
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes & capabilities in a metal machining environment
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deploy robust manufacturing processes that utilize APQP toolset (Control Plans & FMEA)
  • Demonstrated success in executing supplier quality processes
  • Experience managing customer facing issues
  • Demonstrated data analysis skills
