We are currently looking for a motivated individual to join Watertronics at our Hartland, WI location as a Mechanical Designer and SolidWorks Administrator. In this unique position you will design custom products and look for ways to improve existing products.   • Timely and accurate completion of detailed production-quality specifications, CAD drawings, and BOMs for water pumping systems based on customer specifications, standard component selection, legacy designs when appropriate and established engineering standards and best practices
  • Create custom engineered product designs, including the sizing and selection of pump-motor combinations, piping, filtration, valves, and fasteners to achieve required pumping system performance
  • Translate technical specifications into CAD based layouts and full bills of material, to support in-house fabrication and assembly
  • Provide leadership and guidance as Watertronics' champion for transitioning from AutoCAD 2D to SolidWorks 3D as Watertronics' primary CAD tool for Mechanical proposal and design drawings

  • Associates Degree, preferably in mechanical design technology or equivalent field
    5+ years of machine design experience, relating to water pumping stations for golf, landscaping, and agriculture irrigation systems, or similar technologies
  • High level of proficiency with SolidWorks CAD; SW Certified Professional is a plus
  • Translate technical specifications into CAD based layouts and bills of material to support in-house fabrication and assembly
  • Can champion engineering department transition from AutoCAD 2D to SolidWorks 3D
  • Capable of identifying, documenting, and implementing best practices and CAD design standards within engineering department, including file management, model library development and maintenance, and work flow procedures
  • Able to provide design and administrative training and support to other members of the engineering team, relating to using SolidWorks and corresponding infrastructure
