Lindsay Corporation is currently seeking a new Test Development Engineer in Omaha, NE. The Test Development Engineer will be supporting the overall success of the Quality and Manufacturing departments.  Specifically, effectiveness in the following areas will be of top focus:  Designing, building, and supporting factory electrical/mechanical/controls test systems globally. Hardware and software design including manufacturing test engineering, product design, and field support. As part of the Manufacturing and Engineering team you will work in an extremely collaborative and work cooperatively with all Lindsay departments to accomplish and build relationships driving towards ONE LINDSAY. 

You will be responsible to:

  • Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with engineering and customers to eliminate recurrence of non
  • Aid Manufacturing and Engineering in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials/systems following a defined new product development process.
  • Strategically lead product and process improvement projects in an effort to increase manufacturing capability of consistently meeting Lindsay Global requirements. Projects may include: process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis, 6Sigma, 5S and Kaizen events related to test equipment and or system.
  • Partner with Engineering for DFMA, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA test criteria selection, cost estimations, project/resource management.
  • Drive "Zero Defect" mentality within manufacturing. Responsible for system documents and factory test procedures derived from product specifications.
  • Responsible for development, implementation, and maintenance of the factory test equipment hardware and software design. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years of quality/engineering experience
  • Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office applications 
  • Thorough understanding of quality management systems (preferably ISO)
  • Thorough understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
  • Demonstrated experience designing test criteria from product specifications
  • Development of test stations, PC based and PLC integration hardware and software
  • Working knowledge of Quality Systems 8D, Lean, 5 Why's, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, 8-D, DFMEA, PFEMA, PPAP, etc.
